PBS' fall sked launches with 'Prohibition'
Just like Cinemax prepares to spread out the 2nd-season of their Prohibition-era "Boardwalk Empire," PBS will inform audiences the real tale from the period, with Ken Burns' documentary "Prohibition" premiering the very first of three episodes on March. 2.And exactly how Burns and PBS discuss it, his presentation is going to be not sedate. "People in america always like to watch individuals who reach kill those who piss them off and ladies taking their clothes off in the drop of the hat," Burns states.Adds John Wilson, PBS' senior Vice president and chief TV programming executive: "I believe Ken Burns' 'Prohibition' will truly resonate with audiences. It's all of the excitement and drama associated with a feature film from that period -- sex, violence, wild women, thugs and guns -- set from this great bitter cultural divide in the united states.InchPBS is also starting its first -- also it hopes, annual -- Arts Fall Festival, featuring programming taken from round the country. The series will bow March. 14 and run for nine days. Shows will require audiences from Dallas, with "American Masters' Gem Jam Twenty," honoring the band's 20th anniversary, towards the Blue Ridge Mountain tops, where it'll explore a brief history of yankee music in "Produce the Banjo," using the multitalented Steve Martin narrating.Additionally, "Nova" translates John Greene's best-selling book, "The Material from the Cosmos," into riveting television, states Wilson, with episodes airing every Wednesday in November."It is a stunning illustration of how entertaining and exciting science could be,Inch he states.
