Roald Dahl's BFG Hitting The Giant Screen

Human beans rejoice! In 1989, now defunct children's TV animation studio Cosgrove Hall designed a film version from the BFG, starring David Jason because the Large FriendlyGiant themself and Amanda Root as Sophie, the miniature-by-comparison herione. It showed up on TVscreens on Christmas Day that year, and today, 22 years later, ETwriter Melissa Mathison, veteran super producer Frank Marshall and Dreamworks itself are thinking about creating a live-action version.Mathison, as you may have suspected, is on writing responsibilities, but no director or stars happen to be introduced, though we are sure the whispers will begin flying online in no time.It appears just like a sensible move from Dreamworks, with Dahl tales showing to become a wealthy vein for company directors through the years, from Nic Roeg's The Ghouls to Wes Anderson's Fantastic Mr.Fox.So that as it's live action, we are interested to determine who precisely the BFGis likely to be, so, you realize, large and friendly. Hmm.No release date continues to be reserved yet for that BFG, but we'll inform you the moment we discover.
